Description

Learn how to make BBQ pulled chicken that’s juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. Perfect for sandwiches, tacos, or as a main dish.

Ingredients

2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Buns for serving (optional)
Coleslaw for topping (optional)

Instructions

In a slow cooker, add the chicken breasts and pour in the chicken broth.
In a separate bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker, ensuring that the chicken is well coated.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir it into the remaining sauce.
Serve the BBQ pulled chicken on buns, topped with coleslaw if desired.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the spices and sauces to your taste.
For a spicier kick, add some cayenne pepper to the sauce mixture.
Make sure to shred the chicken while it’s still warm for easier handling.
